About Taikan Kai
Taikan Kai is a practical, inclusive karate style focused on awareness, confidence, control and meaningful personal development.
Taikan Kai means “Association of Embodied Understanding.” It is built around the idea that martial arts should be understood through the body, not just memorised as movements.
Training combines traditional karate foundations with practical self-defence, movement quality, mindfulness and adaptability.

Classes include warm-ups, kihon, kata, partner drills, practical application, movement skills and controlled pressure-testing where appropriate.
Training is respectful, supportive and beginner-friendly. Students are encouraged to build confidence without ego or intimidation.
We use progressive training, mats, protective equipment and clear boundaries so students can develop safely and confidently.
